First birthday cake

At the Whelan home we like for birthdays to last at least a month. So this weekend we started celebrating Jackson's upcoming first birthday on March 15. My parents came up for a long weekend, and our wonderful friend Paula Petrey made an adorable cake to help us celebrate. She is a professional cake baker, and it was fantastic! We had so much fun with Nana and Pop and are thankful they made the long trek north.
